Eric Muthomi

Eric is the Founder and CEO of Stawi Foods and Fruits, a food processing company specialising in processing of nutritious food products for Kenyan families, using locally sourced inputs.

The founding idea behind Stawi was to be a market place for smallholder farmers in Kenya who need fair buyers for their produce. Stawi Foods enables smallholder farmers in Kenya to earn stable incomes on their produce, and is making an effort to reconnect society and provide genuine benefit to surrounding communities.

Stawi is also working to address hidden hunger among children using hydrothermal processing technology, through which traditional foods can be naturally enriched with iron and zinc and other essential minerals at a low cost, and then used to process nutritious, appealing and affordable feeding products for babies between 6 and 23 months old.

It’s no surprise that Eric has been recognised on CNN’s African Start-Up and honoured by President Obama as a YALI Fellow in 2014. Eric was ranked by Forbes Magazine among the top 30 entrepreneurs under 30 in Africa.
