Prince Agbata is the CEO & Co-Founder of Coliba Recycling Services, a recycling start-up addressing plastic waste pollution challenges through smart recycling, with operations in Ghana and Cote D’Ivoire.

Prince Kwame Agbata, often called Kwame, is the CEO & Co-Founder of Coliba Recycling Services, a recycling start-up addressing plastic waste pollution challenges through smart recycling with operations in Ghana and Cote D’Ivoire. Prince is a 2019 Acumen Fellow, a Obama Foundation Fellow and a scholar at the AUDI Environmental Foundation. Prior to working with Coliba, he served as a software engineer with a major tech company in Ghana as well as an assistant lecturer in the field of using machine learning as an integration into modern software development project with focus on mobile apps and websites.

Prince continues to work with plastic manufacturing companies in West Africa to help them address post-consumer waste as well as sustainable manufacturing and consumption targets. He was awarded the top SDGs Innovator award by the United Nations in May 2019 and addressed the UN ECOSOC committee on his work, the prospects and innovation in the waste and recycling sector.

He holds a first degree in Information Technology and a postgraduate degree in Global Environmental Studies. Prince on his weekends plays the violin and joins IDEA Africa, an NGO he founded in 2013, to build community libraries in rural communities of Ghana.
